my mom insisted on taking family portraits when i was in high school all the way up to the end of college which is when it all stopped... wait that is not true... i believe we took one when i was already working and thank goodness my college graduation photo (taken post college) did not show the 20 lbs i gained my senior year eating chocolates for breakfast and a sonic wacky pack for lunch...
i thought it would be fitting to continue the tradition and since we didn't get good photos of evan when he was born, we took family pics for his 1st birthday
