Music Man

evan loves to sing, dance, and play instruments.  i really hope he does not turn out like the bieber.  this has been his song for a while but he loves to dance and sing to houdini by foster the people.  sometimes...if he is sleeping too long for his nap, i will play houdini and he will wake up with a big smile on his face.  if we try to wake him up any other way, he is crabby and not pleasant to be around.  his other favorite artists and songs in no particular order...

Summer Daze

evan's world

it's been so cool to see evan grow into the little boy he is now...

here's what he has been up to:
1. drawing... he does it 3-4 times a day with pens usually and sometimes with crayons and markers... he is currently ambidextrous... he prefers to write on things he is not supposed to write on even though he know we write on paper (that little monkey)... he also asks to "switch" pens and he puts the cap back on everything (even markers after he uses one... ocd anyone??)

2. dancing... he's learned the robot and now is doing variations of it... today, i found him dancing with his knees bent twisting his body quite vigorously... where does he come up with these?

3. helping... he LOVES to help... he helps make pancakes in the morning, he helps sweep the floor, he helps put wet laundry into the dryer, he helps clean up, he helps carry folded laundry into his bedroom... if you want him to do anything for you phrase it as "helping"

4. trucks/cars/helicopters/airplanes... lolo helped him buy a bunch of automobiles and he plays with them CONSTANTLY

5. hiding... he likes to hide... he likes to make us hide... then he hides his stuff in what he calls "house" or any space covered by what looks like a roof

6. being silly ... he makes ridiculous faces and then laugh at himself for doing it

7. flirting... he especially likes blondes... sorry if you are not

8. singing

Bye Bye Bye

e and i went to einstein bagels the other day before school for a quick father son breakfast. as he was eating his bagel nsync's bye bye bye was playing in the background...here is the result.



so in the last post we told you that e learned to do the robot...well he put a variation on that after dinner tonight.

we had some indie dance music on one night and evan started to dance. so we joined him. k thought it would be funny if we taught him how to do the robot. here are the results...

e has always loved to cook. here he is cooking alongside mama. pay close attention to the spices he puts in...the dish was worthy of tom colicchio and his panel of judges.

You're A Good Man Charlie Brown

so for halloween, e was...charlie brown.

 we already have his costume for next year picked out...its going to be awesome...any guesses?...i'll give you a hint...luchador.

the weather is also getting cold outside, and we were afraid that e would refuse to wear something on his head.  well, we finally found something

k was tired one saturday morning, so e and i went to kerbey for breakfast.  this kid is eating so much.  he ate 2 eggs, 1/2 a kerbey pancake (they are dinner plate sized), and a cup of fruit.  how does he fit that into his body?...who knows.

i guess e can communicate with squirrels b/c he likes to gather acorns.  he will go out into the lawn and pick up a few acorns and give them to me.  he can do this for 20 minutes and will out gather the squirrels.  he learned to put them in his coat and pant pockets too, so now we have to check his pockets before we do his laundry.  here is his stash from gathering a couple of days.

the big news so far this fall is that e got a haircut.  i guess he thought he was like samson or something b/c he didnt really like getting a haircut...i suppose he thought his strength would go away b/c he looked very concerned as the lady was cutting his hair.

we are really thankful for our family.  it is still weird to us that we are married...much less have a kid.  i know...i know, we have been married for over 3 years and e is 19 months old now.  all of it feels like a blur.
